Project Description : Skill for Reconstruction is a pilot initiative of EFS and its partners in imparting earthquake resilient construction skills and owner led reconstruction in response to the devastation caused by the earthquakes in 2015. Under the SR, skills training was provided to those people house has been completely destroyed by the earthquake, specifically targeting to the participants from very poor household. The main beneficiaries were young people from the affected areas who would like to build back their house or who seek employment in the construction Sector. On-site training, owner led earthquake resilient construction and the integration of earthquake resilient technology in construction related trades by the skills training system are some of the key features of this component.
